Spring/Summer Rowing League and Summer Masters Programs have now been established. Still accepting registration for Learn to Train 1

Thank you all for your patience as we shift into a new season with a new "crew". We are pleased to welcome Swede to our "fleet" with his new ideas and also are excited about our new up and coming Senior and Junior coaches!! The future IS great for SNRC!!

Spring/Summer Adult Rowing League 1 will commence on June 3rd and run until July 10th... Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Please see our Rowing Programs/Adult Recreational page for further details.

Summer Masters program will commence also on June 3rd and run until August 16th (just after Henley). Program will run daily from 5:30 am until 7:30 am (Subject to change by athlete concensus). Please see our Rowing Programs/Masters page for further details.

It is not to late to enroll in our Learn to Train 1 program. Should you not have been able to make registration on Saturday May 25th, please feel free to stop in on Tuesday May 28th, or to call SNRC or the Registrar direct, to make arrangements for registration or to answer any inquiries.

Summer Competitive Rowing

Starting Monday June 17th and ending, Friday August 16th (registration deadline is June 22nd for Alpha list submission)

Rowing times for Senior U23 and Senior A will be 5:30 to 7:00am

Rowing times for Junior B will be Monday to Friday 6:00 to 8:00pm as able due to exam week.

Junior B (U17), Junior A (U19) Men and Women.

Senior B (U23), Senior A (open age) Men and Women

Cost is $275.00 plus $35.75 HST for total of $310.75 (which does not include Henley any Henley races)

Cost to include up to two Henley Races will be $325.00 plus $42.25 for a total of $367.25 (Race inclusion at the discreation of Head Coach Swede)

(plus additional Rowing Canada/Row Ontario fees will apply. If you rowed in the spring there is a slight discount. The following fees apply $90.00 if rowed spring and $78.00 if havent rowed spring high school season)

With Henley and fees... $457.25 total didnt row spring $445.25 rowed spring

Without Henley fees... $400.75 total didnt row spring $388.75 rowed spring

PLEASE NOTE:


RCA-ORA Anniversary Date is April 1
• All members of SNRC belong to ORA and RCA.
• All athletes competing at Canadian Henley must be registered by the RCA due date (June 23) Alpha list of PAID UP members required for HENLEY Regatta registration
• All members receive RCA-ORA membership and insurance coverage
• Family reduction is available (3 or more members at the same address)
• Regatta entries will be determined by club (club sanctioned regattas)
• All other regatta entry fees will be the responsibility of the individual or crew (tentative: specify no. of events / regattas sanctioned/distinct summer and fall entry limits)

Cora Championships (Welland) July 13th and July 14th

St Catharines Invite (Senior Crews only) July 20th and 21st

Row Ontario Championships Henley July 27th and 28th (by Head Coach Selection)

LAST MINUTE entries are on Tuesday June 18th from 3:30 to 5:30pm as a registration day and ongoing by coaching until June 22nd by 5:00pm at the SNRC portable

Registrations will NOT BE ACCEPTED beyond June 22nd by 5:00 pm due to coach selections and alpha list submissions for Henley Regatta!

Youth Summer Camp 1 & 2 (ages 12 - 15)

(First session) Monday to Friday, July 3rd to July 26th - 9:00a.m. til 12:00 noon
Cost = $156.00 (incl. HST), $19.00 RCA/RO fee total $175.00 (July)

(Second session) Monday to Friday, August 12, to Aug 30th - 9:00 a.m. til 12:00 noon
Cost = $141.00 (incl HST), $19.00 RCA/RO fee total $160.00 (August)

 

The first week of the program is dedicated to familiarization with equipment and safety. On-water instruction begins week 2. The students will average four days per week of on-water instruction, weather permitting. When they are not on the water the students wil take part in various on-land activities including active and quiet games as well as a structured fitness program.

SWIMMING TEST REQUIRED: Every student registered for rowing must be tested for swimming capability. This swim test will consist of approximately five minutes of treading water and an endurance swim of 50 meters with no rest period. Such a test can be provided for a small cost from any YMCA, by calling ahead to the aquatics department. This is mandatory in order to ensure the safety of your child.

IMPORTANT SAFETY MEASURES: While out in shells all participants will be required to wear "Banana Type" life preservers which are provided. Safety is our number one priority. Coach boats are always beside their crews on water!

 

Registration will take place Tuesday June 11th, Thursday June 13th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Saturday June 15th 10:00am until noon and again Thrusday July 26th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm....at South Niagara Rowing Club Portable, 270 Colborne Street.
