Job Posting: Junior Coach(es) – June 28 to August 20, 2010
Under the supervision of the SNRC Board of Directors and the Senior Coach(es), the successful candidate(s) will act as Junior coach(es) to assist with the various Club programs, including but not limited to, the following:
· Learn to Row programs
· Competitive programs
· Adult Recreational and/or Competitive Rowing Programs
· Summer rowing skills camps
Duties
· Coach for all LTR programs
· Ensure safety of all rowers at all times
· Assist at club regattas
· Assist with boathouse safety & orientation sessions for all members
· Ensure the boathouse and grounds are tidy at all times
· Assist with the maintenance of all equipment
· Ensure all rowers comply with club safety procedures and equipment handling guidelines
· Assist with the general maintenance, repair and upkeep of the physical plant
Qualifications
· Returning student, 15-30 years old
· Minimum 3 years rowing experience
· Demonstrated success rowing at a high performance level
· Demonstrated ability to positively transfer new skills to novice rowers
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
· Strong teamwork skills
· Learn to Row Instructor Certification desirable
· Level 1 RCA certification desirable
· Boat Operator License
· Demonstrated ability in coach boat operation
· Current First Aid and CPR certification
Hours of Work
· 30-40 hours/week; day or evening shifts, weekends during regattas
